Warning. What the heck?
It was like any other day. Shopped for the third day in a row. The difference is that this time i drove! Without my parents' supervision. Yay me! Of course, kind Lyon was right beside me navigating, and still is at the moment. =P Instead of blabbering about what happened, and what i bought (secret =)), i got this

Yay Me. Got my first warning in my first outing. And its a dumb warning. How was i suppose to know that? What nore there was a chip in my car's license plate that was always there but i never noticed. How dumb. So if you ought to be spending a whole lot time shopping, dont bother parking at Tesco. Ill give you that RM1 to park in IKANO or the Curve. Swt. Labels: Miscellaneous |

Viva Italia ^^
The one place i want to settle down is the Mediterranean. THE place with vibrant colours and senses, brilliant food, picturesque languages spoken by the natives, beautiful, in the words of Lyon, STUPENDOUS, HEAVENLY, WONDERFUL weather. Of course, due to globalisation, we Malaysians are given the full opportunity to not only salivate these yummy delicacies, but also live the dream. ^^ I talk too much these days.
Just 12 hours earlier, i was driving (smoothly, mind you, well, one glitch, only ONE this time!!! XD) to Taylor's College to pay the Placement Centre a visit. Told me to find the accommodation online and that was about what i could do before my results are out =.=!!!
All the way to Taylor's and i got that aSswer. Should have listened to Doug, IDP more professional. =Pp. Anyways, Lyon and i went to this new bakery in Subang, called D' Pastry. Was fascinated by the (fake) wedding sculpture and also the Chocolate coated figurines. Bought this really cool Pistachio cookies. (P.S. I love Pistachio guys!!! XD)
My first thought of it was Tugu Negara. Swt...
Working folks... The ever traditional wedding cake...
Me posing hopelessly behind.
Later, i dropped by Lyon's place for a while and chilled. We checked for accommodation and it was so complicated, well as least for me, i was half awake after watching the time wasting MU-Chelsea match... sheesh!
I thought the universities would have made accommodation shopping easier since they DO want students to acquire skills there...more students, more fees...anyways...
My mom fetched Lyon and I (She took the car back after i drove to Taylor's. Lol) and we were off to the newly opened branch of Porto Romano, which is located in Taman Tun. Mediterranean feast, that was something to look forward to! It was drizzling rain, and our stomachs were growling. We were led to a table right opposite the bar. The restaurant has a very unpretentious decor, with portraits and paintings to add to the ever cosy Mediterranean feel, coupled with tables and chairs made of dark timber wood to contribute to the rustic mood. I was spoilt for choice, but at last, i chose the Porto Romano Seafood Spaghetti. Hehe.
I'm on a culture hop here. Yest was japanese, now Italian.
Enough chitty chat. Let the pictures do the talking. XD
Merlot Red wine Lyon brought.
Pleasant Aura...
=D
Sistas unite!
Smilling, but anxiously waiting for the FOOD
Fui-yoh! That smile melts hearts =) Quite impressive display of Cork opening. +_+
Quote James, 'Eeee! Like airplane canned apple juice...'
Under 18! Caught in the act!
I excused myself to check out the state of the washroom. Like some kind of hygiene inspector. rightt... Posing, in the washroom. (No one there of course...@@) Ok, food pictures galore!
Lyon's Freakin' Huge Seafood Platter
Claimed (and proven) to be the best Lamb Shank in town.
Ellen and her Smoked Salmon Pasta Whatchamecalit Combo
Look at the satisfying look on his face...Creamsauce Mushroom Pasta
Mom's Pizza, but ended up the boys finishing it for her ^^
Last but not least, ma Seafood Spaghetti. Spicy! XD Of course, no meal is complete without desserts, no matter how full one gets....
Italian Gelato - Pistachio, Hazelnut and Oreo! Sapu when you can!
Tiramisu. Yumm...
Ooo, did i mention i drank the red wine, and got extremely red after 15 minutes? Haha, im so not used to alcohol.
I don't look red here.... A very satisfying adventure to the Mediterranean indeed. Maybe i was high, or rather tipsy, so i canningly asked the kind bartender to take a picture with us. Haha, he was surprised and thought we were from outstation. Lol....
I plan to end blog entries about my adventures with a picture taken with a stranger. XD Hopefully I could keep it up though. If i were assigned to a food review about Porto Romano, I'd give em a 8/10. So do visit, only if you meet the necessary requirements:
1. Solemnly and sincerely prepared to spend lots and lots of cash, of course, parents would be helpful 2. Bring your own wine, UNLESS its some age-old big shot wine. Otherwise, save it. They charge RM25 for serving alcohol from outside. (However, mine was waived, because it was our 1st visit ^^) 3. Bring an appetite! Very big portions. This is good news for you Ron! 4. Bring a (digital) camera. Beautiful memories are meant to be cherished and one way is through pictures.
After a very heavy lunch, Lyon, Ellen, Mark and i went to One Utama to splurge!!! As least i did. Bumped into many pretty ladies, namely Lin-Dy, Shamay, Ee Jen, Shar Lyn and her mom (Auntie very cool wei! =P) and also Kathryn! A shout out to you guys! Also, not forgetting Li Sim, and Ellen's friends!!
Hmm, my fattening mission seems to be accomplished...now on to FIRMING! Muahhaha!!

Mushi Mushi!
I'm back with a bang, after days of resting and coping with the sickness i've got. Woke up at 9.30am today, and decided to go to the much hyped Japanese Bazaar. My mom has been an ardent devotee to this event, so i decided to at least experience just once before i head to Australia. Over the past few days, many people have come up to me, telling me i've lost weight. Thinking of it as a positive thing, i grabbed my tiny pink tee (which i haven't wore in ages, due to bulging stomach) from my closet, and my Kamiseta Japan jeans (thought it suits the theme and all), and finished the outfit with my ever favourite White Cross Belt. I look into the mirror, wow, i could fit inside that pink blouse. Long story short, after a brief breakfast, we were off to the event.
anytime is a good posing time ^^ at the car porch
After a 30 mins drive, we finally reached our destination, the magical Renaissance Hotel. At first glance, it was relatively smaller than the hotels I've been to, namely Sunway Hotel (for prom) and Shangrilla Hotel (for Lyon's Birthday). We took the elevator where there were many Japanese ladies and gents. They were whispering Japanese and i was there trying to understand their mutterings. In my right mind, i just wished i knew a little bit more Japanese. Or maybe i should have asked Yung Chien along to be my translator! keke!
Oblivious to what time the bazaar was going to start, we rushed to the grand ballroom. We were half relieved that it was only starting at 11.30am. We bought our tickets and we were required to queue up. The beaufitul thing about Japanese people is that they are really patient people. We were ushered to queue up on the stairs leading to the ballroom and the photobug bit me again..
Majestic Chandelier Leading to the Entrance of the Grand Ballroom
ok, this is a wake up call! i look freakin' thin (kinda distorted) !! I'm scared now...
THE event organized by the Japan Club of KL
The chop needed...i'm so mou liu...
There were a delay of 30 minutes. However, i wasn't complaining. Maybe the respective VIPs were late. As the main entrance opened, the Japanese girls dressed in mighty kung-fu styled costumes hit the gongs, as part of the opening ceremory. We were allowed inside the ballroom in batches, and we were the 3rd batch. Ill let the pictures do the talking now...

Beautiful array of jewellry

So many people, it was congested!!
Random shots... i saw Nori, our Prime Minister's daughter there =P

The Stage for Cultural Performances

Yummy Japanese cakes! ^^

Of course, Western affairs too.

Tea Ceremony Session, note the Ang Mo(s) there. =P

Japanese Ladies in Kimonos Demonstrating the Tea Pouring... Japanese Men with their very Unique Singing Performance

Beautiful Kimonos at the Photo Booth

Me and one of the organizers from the Japan Club of KL!! XD
Also, there were lots of items on sale! handmade bags, ceramics, potted flowers, portraits of beautiful Japanese culture, Christmas ornaments, assorted handicrafts, kitchen wears, facial products etc... There was also a foot massage booth. It was quite an experience.
The real question is: What did I buy?? keke. Well, some are not to be disclosed (for Christmas gifts anyways XD), but for you readers, we got FOOD! Japanese cakes, SUSHI!!!, California Roll, Udon Mee, some Japanese packet soup. Thought i better put on the pounds marrr...

Yesterday...
"Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away..."
Yesterday was a very very 'productive' day, in many ways. After a fun-filled party at my house (23 Nov), I had to wake up in the unGodly hour of 6.30am (holiday marr...should sleep till dawn XD) to create a new passport. My previous one was misplaced till God knows where. I popped two cheesetarts into my mouth then my mom and i headed to the Subang Immigration Place. As usual, the crowd was already there, and we had to wait. When it was our turn to take a number, the man in charge told us to go to the Kuala Lumpur headquarters. Imagine the disgust look i had. Oh well, i needed the passport as early as possible, therefore, it is only 'wise' to heed his advice. Reluctantly, we left. At that point, I was already feeling tad wrong, rather nauseous. Fast forward to the KL HQ, the feeling of nausea creeped on me. The culprit was the body adour of multi racial Malaysians and that awful Government buildings onekindofsmell. Ish! Waiting for my turn to report lost was hell. I kept on chewing on the blackcurrent lozanges i had with me. Still, it failed to work.
Back at home, the familiar smell of home still didn't prove helpful.
Here's a good summary of how i spent my day. For those easily troubled by sickness or puking, do not proceed.
I know its not graceful to reveal this but oh well. Im open enough. Right?
Crapping Counter: 4
Throwing Up Counter: 4
Hours slept: 3 hours in the evening, 10 hours at night
Medication Taken: 3 tablets of panadol
Amount sweated: As if i have played 30 mins of Badminton
Ta-da!! Im disgusting.
I wasn't the only one who felt sick. Len was also suffering. So were my bros. Must be something we ate. maybe its the rain last night. or maybe its just genetics. XD Anyways, i know everybody wants the lowdown of my party! Hopefully i didn't bore anyone though. I apologise if i did.

SAM Prom 2006
If you think im going to ramble on how i am so excited to start a new blog, you're wrong. ill just get straight to the point then. Who needs rambling nowadays? its the HOLIDAYS!!!! hallehujah =P
Yesterday was a bitter sweet day. A day which most people anticipated. A day which most people would take their sweet time to dress up and groom themselves. A day which most guys would actually care about wearing something decent. No offense. *drum roll*....SAM PROM!!!!! AHHHH!!!! after a tough battle with the external exams, still, i wasn't all out to celebrate. Me promising to perform on that glorious night led me to kurung in my house to nurture my sore throat. After attempting to down diced ginger in hot water (Thanks Josh, for the camera too!) and a very pleasant boiled pear with almonds (Thank you Mama) , i finally regained part of my lost voice. Anyways, enough rambling...
before transformation....

dorky me...
After the painless plucking of eyebrows. and having my face being dominated by my dearest Mama and Len, the ugly duckling turned into a..
swan, lyon says an orange coloured swan. =.= I picked lyon up and off we went to Sunway Hotel Resort. The first thing he told me as he entered the car was 'Wow' kekeke. My mom dropped us to the lobby, and all the SAMmies and SAMrettes were gleefully waiting for the event to start. As we walked into the lobby, all eyes were on us. Guess we really stood out with the orange combo. It really looked as if we were at the wrong event, but who cares. =P
My aim was to create a dancer look so i bought a pair of pinkish bronze dancing shoes. For those eager to know, my orange (M2 girls kept on insisting that its red =P) latino dress' from Laundry USA. Pics for you guys to drool over. =D

Me and my darling ^^

Lyon, Robin, Yours Truly
Amanda. Lovely.
Shammay. She's so cute! At around 9.00pm, the nominations of prom queen and king was announced. That was my cue to hide in the dressing room, ready to showcase my voice. After much voice training, it was the big moment. However, problems arose. My mike wasn't working, so people from the far back couldn't hear my voice! AHHHH!!!!!!!!! Should have seen my face, it blanked when I knew the matter. Despite that, i was stupid enough to continue. My voice turned hoarse by then... Before our second performancem which is Pretty Boy, joined by Kim Chew and Cheng Choon, i switched the mike. Due to technical error (again....sigh), rehearsals were way better than the actual performance. The finale came when Kathryn and I sang Graduation and Auld Lang Syne. We walked right to the end of the ballroom to spread the love. We tried to rope in everybody to sing along, however, our efforts were wasted. Everybody else were busy taking pictures and minding their own business. Of course, we couldn't blame them. I wouldn't. I was already on cloud nine to be able to perform in front of almost 1k people. To redeem my confidence, and also my pride, i sang my heart out, basically screaming to the mike. It was really enjoyable. After much comforting by Lyon, I finally took my mind off the glitches that happened, and tried to enjoy the rest of the evening. Of course, i did at last.
Prom Performance

Mrs. Goh, the most efficient teacher ever!! Miss ya heaps! Dance floor was open around 11.00pm. As usual, i pulled Lyon and we were the first ones to be on the dance floor. I flung my handbag, and my handphone, my lipstick, tissues flew out of my bag. So embarassing @@ but stupid things happen, especially with me. After an hour of jam packed dancing, everybody became sweaty and pretty messed up...

Feeling kinda thirsty, I ordered this wonderful mocktail called Sexy Lady ^^, very sourish, with a pinch of strawberry and tasteful lemon. So far, that was THE best mocktail ever!! =P
Grinning widely...kekeke...

Lyon's Singapore Swing, with all sorts of Alcohol... Like i said, bitter sweet moments of SAM prom 2006, at least for me. Overall, prom was tiring but absolutely memorable. Lyon and I defied convention by displaying such striking colour and i got to leave a rather small impact by singing. Hopefully i get to share my love for singing and dancing in many years to come. You never know, i might be famous one day ^^ (fat hopes huh?)
