Of Babysitting and Tearing
Yesterday, I was supposed to meet Bob and an old friend, Caleen for lunch-cum-shopping.

However, Caleen had to work.
For fear of a possible occurrence of weirdness, (Me and Braden...Lyon won't be too happy... =P but I'd date you anytime Braden if i were single!!! XD)

I suggested we ask Lin-Dy along instead. She's the fashionista I know. =P

Both Lin-Dy and Winnie mummy taking care of Baby Bob. How sweet! XD

Pictures galore!!! *Surprisingly (I was surprised myself too) only Bob's*

Multitasking.

To not waste the cheese from the Cheezy Wedges, the great Bob had the idea of putting them in his Alaskan Fish Burger...

Ta-da! If this is what guys normally do, sorry lar. I very un-knowledgable.

After a long day of shopping and eating, Bob dropped Lin-Dy off so she could change and we headed to our M2 gathering at Subang.

Due to a little misunderstanding in terms of directions, Bob took the wrong turn and we went ALL the way to Mid Valley.

Oh well, it was my fault too. After 10 months of sitting (mostly napping) in that run-down
bus to Taylor's, I was still unsure of the Federal Territory way to Subang.

At 6pm, we finally reached and us vainers had to 'ta pan' in the car before showing ourselves to the world.

The Restaurant...

I was half surprised when i saw Joshua and Clinton at Meeting Point Restaurant. So shout out to you guys!!! Will see you all this coming Saturday.

More pictures!!

M2-rians of 2006!!!

JC, Zhan, Me, Ms. Choo, WK

Miss you!

and all of you!!!

ex Dance Club vice and pres. =)

Matching colours!!!! XD

We gave Ms. Choo our small token of appreciation. A pair of pearl earring. To remind her of us! =P

I hate to part. My eyes started to sting as I bid goodbye to some of them. Then I couldn't help it. I had to release. Sigh. I'm so not strong-willed.

Thank you Boon Kin for chia-ing some and the Sparking Juice too! And thank you all for coming, namely Bob, Lin-dy, Doug, Zhan, Jun C
hian, Wai Kit, Shar Lyn, Vicky, Ee Jen, Michelle, Kang Lin, Kei Wan, Ruey Wen, Su Yoong, Yorshee, Amy Soon and last but not least, Ms. Choo. Boon Kin and I hope that this gathering is as memorable to you as it is to us.

This is where we meet, this is where we part (on a temporary basis).

The Firsts for Everything - Part 6
26th December 2006, Tuesday

Rudi and Eve moved in with us, and all of us woke up by 10/11am.
Eve mentioned that during boxing day, shops in London offer rock bottom prices, so it's natural that we were all excited about it.

The radio news expressed that some Londoners even slept outside the shop at 3am...

We wanted to take the Tube, but we changed our minds. Instead we took the bus. At the meantime...
Lyon looked like a very obvious thief...
As the bus drove us to Oxford Street, the crowd at the shops just turned me off. It was like War of the Worlds, the difference was the mania that is shopping. Londoners were seen holding at least 5 bags, from Nike, Topshop, Next and so on. So we decided, heartachely, to screw shopping and went sightseeing instead. First stop was Trafalgar Square...
Then, so happened the double decker bus stopped nearby, so the Uncle Stephen thought we should have a go. He meant, I can't tell my friends I've been to London and did not sit on the double decker bus right? =S

Ta-Da!!

And the tour began...

Trafalgar Square

Clock Tower The lion looks unhappy, according to Lyon..

London Eye

The boy's having not-so-innocent fun with the goose...
Chamber of Horrors.. the place I won't go to. =/
Acting yeng...=P
Rambutans in London???

The tour ended somewhere near the City Centre. We were sitting at the open top of the double decker, so imagine this

The bus speed + Winter (5 degrees) + blowing wind and you get...

Nine adventurers freezed up and four with the need to pee urgently.

Finding toilets is a tough quest in London, indeed.

The fancy hotels only heed nature's call from their house guests.

Most shops do not have one.

So my only logical solution to that is

1. it's either the staffs don't drink water or,

2. they wear diapers.

I guess the 3rd one is more reasonable. Which is what we did.

We found toilets in the Underground.
And they were pretty clean too. =)

Then it was lunch time, so we indulged Western in Aberdeen Steak House.

Day 2 report - Steady as it grows!

=)

=P

Lamb Shank rocks! I'm sick of Mash Potatoes, go figure.

The whole gang...

Red Decor...

Thank the man for pointing out...

After dinner then it was the much anticipated highlight of the trip.

CHICAGO!!!!!

Our first musical! *grins*

Who would have imagined this simple stage can be turned into a night of... Razzle Dazzle!!

As the French say, "Magnific!!!"

The Firsts for Everything - Part 5

25
th December 2006, Monday

We woke up at 4am local time. A very ungodly hour, but thank goodness jet lag wore off by then. We waited till 8am, where breakfast was served at the Breakfast Room.

Aunt Selina with her very trendy outfit =)
Of course, I had to join in after that...
Poor Lyon, the photographer.. =P

Uncle had the quirkiest idea of keeping track the progression of growth of his beard. (Look out for these pics, will be posting them for those who want to keep track of this)

Day 1 report = squeaky clean

=)

After that, the Pang's joined us. We weren't sure whether Eve and Rudi had awoken from their slumber, so we thought we would let them have their rest.

We went ahead with our sightseeing.

The park adjacent to the hoStel...
Bayswater Road..
Doesn't he look adorable with the beanie?? XD
Geared up for a new adventure... Don't go there!! Lol...

On Christmas morning, the streets resembled ghost towns, where the people are countable, eateries are closed (Starbucks was closed too!). Unlike Malaysia, where the denizens spend Christmas morning shopping or yam chaa-in with friends.

Look at that! 25% Service Charge. WTF?!??!

Our next stop was Kensington Park. A fellow Malaysian myself, I can't help but say that most Malaysians would DIE than visit a park at 11am, where the sun is blazing, stripping off the moisture from our skin. The park here is open everyday, is cool and breezy and is kept clean at all times...

Absolutely magnificent...

Can't really see the end of it can ya? =p
Both of us looked kinda stiff..

Lyon behind the Royal Albert Hall...he was damn cold...pity him...

After that, we walked to the Round Lake and boy was it amazing...

Veron and I, surrounded by beautiful feathered creatures...

Keke! Uncle Cheu conversing with the swans...

The lady who was feeding the birds with bread crumbs and other dried foods. Really cool how the birds swooped in mid air to get them.

Princess Diana's Memorial Park...

Then at this instant, it struck me hard. I checked my bag and it was unzipped! In usual Winnie style, I panicked and frantically searched my bag for my things.

Shit.

My wallet. Not to be seen.

I looked twice and my eyes were not fooling me.

At the back of the mind, I kept on thinking about my IC, my cards, and of course, my pictures...

I was at a foreign land without identification.

So Lyon and I quicky rushed off to the places we had visited. And also, in usual fashion, I started to cry.

Then we stopped by the Lake and asked the lady who fed the birds. Her family was there too.

And i asked the lady whether she has seen my wallet.

Unfortunately, she said no.

Her relatives, on the other hand, asked me to check in my handbag one more time...

Miraculously, I checked and 'lo and behold it was slotted neatly behind an envelope. =.=||

I was so relieved...

Then, we headed back to the hotel, and on the way, we were treated with a very salty Kebab. Lyon loves salty stuff, so good for him. =)

Heheh! This proves we are slim people. XD

Lyon has a particular fondness for the telephone booths. Wait, it's the inside that he (or any man) desires.

Why??

Pictures of scantily clad girls posing with their assets exposed and phone numbers for you to dial, that's why.

Very good marketing technique to enable more people to use public phones...

Too bad guys, no pictures of those. =/

Cute bottles!

We took a break in the hotel for a while, while Rudi and Lyon indulged in their SPAR chicken. Then, Uncle Steven suggested we visit Oxford Street, shopping haven in London and Chinatown.

So we walked...

and walked...

and walked..

for one solid hour....

And we made it alive to Oxford Street. Tummies were growling already but we kept on moving...

Beautiful Christmas Deco...
The iPod store. Vince told Lyon that iPods are sold like candies here.

We reached Chinatown and ate at Loon Tao Chinese Restaurant...

It's a small world after all.

Lyon met his friends from Miri who are studying in Newcastle. What luck to bump into them in that place!

We walked around Chinatown after dinner and found an interesting shop. They sell all kinds of Asian food, even Maggi Mee and Yeos!
Me and my terrorist. =)

Outside Burger King, two caricature artistes were drawing an audience (pun intended).

So we decided to give it a shot.

Lyon and I chose to do a portrait of both of us...

Haha! I was so bored and the cold shrunk my eyes..><

Eve, Veron, Rudi and Uncle Cheu all did one (hmmm...will try and get pics of those, quite funny)

Then the girls took a cab back to the hotel while the guys, being the gentlemen, walked back...

The perks of being a girl eh...=)

To be continued...

The Firsts for Everything - Part 4
24th December 2006, Sunday

After approximately 7 hours and 55 minutes, we reached the majestic Dubai International Airport. Our transit was allowed for an hour so all we did was take some shots..

Tis for you Ashley!! Vroom Vroom!
Gold, what Dubai is famous for...

A Tad Blurry

Oh baby. This shot's for you Bob!
and Jun Chian. Tee hee! Beautiful Modern DIA

Then it was time to board. After another painstaking 6 hours and 30 minutes, we finally reached Heathrow Airport. We could feel the cool breeze and braced ourselves for the 6 degrees temperature reported. After immigration, passport and baggage claim, it was time to head out and see what United Kingdom has to offer.

I quote Rudi: "My anxiousness melting into euphoria when I saw those familiar faces appear from the Arrivals gate at Heathrow, (only to walk by me and Eve without noticing that we were right there!)"

Couldn't blame us. We were looking at the other direction! Keke!!

I could see their eyes. Some (I think) were trying to hold back the tears of joy. After all, family is forever. So seeing both families united as one on a foreign country, is such a miraculous, yet possible sight.

We took the Underground to our hotel, which is located at Bayswater. Lyon spoke to this really sunburned plumber, who just got back from surfing overseas. Very nice fellow, educating us about surfing and places to surf.

But we didn't catch his name. Lol.

I absolutely adore the weather. However, Lyon thought otherwise. =P

Then we reached the hotel. London House Hotel it is named.

Lyon (and his cute binnie), Veron, Aunt Belinda, Me! At the lobby

Eve, Me, Veron
Couples!

I quote Rudi and Uncle Stephen: " It is mistakenly spelt as London House HoStel."

We were shocked at the instant glance of it.

More like a student dorm.

=P

Uncle Cheu so comfortably. =)

Dormss.....Uncle Stephen called it Chicken Coop. LolAt least the views not bad outside the hoStel...

Imagine the dreadful horror...once we are told that Malaysia Hall (where Rudi and Eve were staying) is tons better than London House Hotel!!!

We had to see it for ourselves. And yes, their claim was justified.

Uncle is Pimping Yo! At Malaysia Hall.

we decided to visit the neighbouring shops. There were souvenirs shop, a lingerie shop which the guys were quite interested, chinese take away and a shopping mall called Whiteley.

Girls rock! Veron, Eve, A. Belinda. A. Selina, Winnie.

At 3 something pm, we visited Whiteley and was taken aback by the array of cute creatures...

There's like a hidden mechanism to make the dog seemed like they were actually breathing.

Cute pets without the cleaning poo and feeding eh?

So cute!!! without poo problem.

Sweet Christmas Eve.
The real power couple. Salute! =P
Now Rudi's turn to be pimpin'.
The golden couples!

Spot the resemblance!

Whiteleys Shopping Mall.

Around 4pm (which is approximately 12am in KL) we decided to eat dinner.

Lyon and I shared Mixed Grill.

RM100 over for dinner...

Are you tempted?

MA Potters restaurant.

Due to Christmas Eve, all shops were closed by 5pm. And the sky was painted shades of black once we exited the shopping mall. Wind was blowing profusely. And we were like chickens without feathers from keeping us warm. Even I couldn't stand the cold this time. So we annimously voted to go back to the hotel and sleep...

We dozed off around 7pm...

Visitors from Down Under
I have been a neglectful blogger, indeed, was flushed with the university applications, visas, and visitors from afar.

Sometimes I feel my spirits are broken unintentionally. I have been sleeping at odd hours, 2am, 3am. To think that once I was the advocate of sleeping at the most appropriate times.

But anyways, I had bountiful fun with friends and family alike, since my return from the UK trip. First of all, the Ng family came and stayed with us for a week! We went to so many places, and ATE ATE ATE!!!

Oo Oh!! Paparazzi. Pose!

Those candid moments...

=)

Some shots we took before they took off to Sydney...

Aunty Jane, Me, Ying Xin, Len

Girly girls.

plus Ying Yee and her ex school mates!! (so sorry, forgot names!!! AHH!!!)

The sistas!

Muakz Muakz!!!! Hope you guys have a good time and I'll visit you guys for sure!!!

The Firsts for Everything - Part 3
As I showered my family with the beautiful images of the UK trip, my mind wandered off, into the distance, into the days where human strength, knowledge, skill are tested. As to not venture out of topic...

Veni, vidi, vici

I came, I saw, I conquered.

(Lyon insisted I start off with this, to maintain a certain flare and coolness in my entries =.=)

Extraordinary, outrageous (actually same meaning as extraordinary leh. lol), and treasured.

3 words to describe my 2 weeks with Cheu and Pang family.

Shoutout to Uncle Thomas aka Team Doctor, Uncle Stephen, Aunt Selina, Aunt Belinda, Rudi, Evelyn, Veronica, and of course Lyon!!!

After much self persuasion, I decided to engrave my ass print onto my seat and continue blogging about the much frenzied, much devoted journey to the Land where it upholds traditional lifestyle, while embracing modern mentalities.

23rd December 2006, Saturday

I finally met up with his mom, rather groggily i admit (in the washroom as I was washing up) After that, we had brunch with some of the convoys at 88 Restaurant. They suggested I took Kuay Chap Kuey Teow Soup and it was a taste to get accustomed to I admit. But my adventerous side in terms of food took over so I find it rather interesting.

After brunch, I was scheduled to finally meet Lyon's dad at his clinic. After a brief introduction, he suggested the unfamiliar...

U Thomas: 'Come sit down, I'll give you a flu vaccine. Against any flu bug in UK.'
Me: (Reminiscing the last shot I've taken, which was 2 years ago) 'Errrrrrr, ok.' (A tad afraid I admit)

It was stingy.

Felt like a fat mosquito sucking my blood.

But it was worth it though. Free from flu threat for a year. =)

After that, Lyon brought me to Miri's "most popular" shopping complex, Bintang Plaza, which was relatively small compared to some of the shopping complexes we have here. i visited Clinton's dads shop, World of Feng Shui.

Clinton: "You looked like 'lou pan liong' "

The driver. Heheh.

It was time to head back to Lyon's house. Then he realised his luggage bag was in an ususable state, so we had to make a quick dash of shopping. We met Daniel, his sister and mom at the payment counter.

Half hour later, we packed up and we travelled to Brunei...

So like Malaysia...
Camwhoring, anywhere, anytime...

Like I said...

Our stomachs got hungry, so we stopped by a small alley where there exists no fancy shops. Brunei, in my view, was in a tad mess. Not really well developed. So happens we spotted a small corner shop which sells Singaporean food (I think). I ordered Roti Kahwin and guess what?

It's Toast with Butter!

What a cute name.

15 minutes later, we arrived at the airport and realized our flight has been delayed 5 hours.

5 HOURS!

It would be my most patient time ever.

So what did I do to kill time?

First I had the constant urge to visit the toilet area (there was a couch outside), then dinner was served at the then we watched Talladega Nights. To feed boredom, blogged.

Our most popular travelling game would be...

Mastermind.

The couch outside the toilet..eheh...

In BI097...

To be continued...
